Home at last!

Nicholas finally got to come home on September 1! We're so glad he's home!

Proud Daddy and Big Brother Noah with Nicholas
Noah has been the sweetest big brother since the second Nicholas
pulled into the driveway on Tuesday. We could not be more
proud of him!

Suprise!

What a suprise! Nicholas was due September 21, but he decided
to come on August 19. We are so excited that he is here!
Nicholas spent 13 days in the NICU because he was so early. It was
definitely hard leaving our baby at the hospital. Thanks to everyone who
helped take care of Noah while we went back and forth to the hospital.

Noah's 2nd Birthday!

5:30 a.m. - Noah gets his beloved train table. He was so excited!
(So were Mommy and Daddy) He played with it for hours!
(I highly recommend the Imaginarium train table - it's awesome
and comes with so many pieces!)
Noah was so excited about his party with his friends.
He seemed to really understand that all the excitement was for him!
Thanks, Mom, for all your help getting ready for the party!

Turks and Caicos

In mid-June, we went to Turks and Caicos with my parents and brothers for a week. Noah was so excited about the airplane taking him to the beach. We had a great time. The house we rented was lovely and the beaches were awesome! My sweet red-headed baby didn't get sunburned, but his daddy did! Noah enjoying the sand

View from the third floor balcony of our house.

Noah is now confused about "beach" water and "pool" water. He thinks all water that is clear like that is "beach" water. Obviously we haven't spent much time on the Gulf Coast!

This is the real live flamingo we saw one day while we were driving around. Noah and I got out and got as close to it as we could. We were both very impressed!

The beach picture!

Noah enjoyed playing in the pool at the house.

The view from the outdoor restaurant the last night we were on the island.

Memphis

Noah has been obsessed with basketball lately, so I made sure to take him to see the FedEx Forum. He loved all of the balls sitting out front.

We went to Memphis to shop, but we had so much fun taking Noah around to do fun things that we didn't get much shopping done. Oh, well. Our trip ended with a visit to our long lost friends, the Taylors. We were so glad to see them. Thanks Andrew and Jennifer for coming to see us!

Graduation

My brother Christian graduated from Ole Miss at the beginning of May. Go Christian! He will be attending Medical School in the fall. Noah had a blast at his graduation. He sat through all three ceremonies pretty well, and he sure did enjoying being the center of his family's attention. Good luck when baby brother comes! Noah enjoying snacks after the honor's college ceremony.

Wild Animal Safari

While in Pine Mountain, we went on a Wild Animal Safari. I know it is in the middle of no where and you are sure it is a hoax, but I am here to tell you it is a real wild animal safari. I have been twice now, and it was fun and exciting both times. Although Noah won't remember it, he had a blast! They take you around in a zebra painted school bus and the animals come up to the bus and eat food out of your hands!
This water buffalo and his gang greated us as we entered the gate in the zebra bus. The were all quite eager to eat the treats we had for them. This cute elk ate right out of my hand! Noah loved seeing the animals come right up to the window, but he wouldn't give them the food. He kept putting it on the windowsil for them.Yep, we are feeding a giraffe. We were all very impressed.Daddy seems awfully friendly with this cow-looking animal.

I had told Noah about the zebra bus for several days, so it was probably his favorite thing on the safari. If you ask him what he saw he'll tell you "zebwa bus".

So, you can drive your own car through the safari if you want to, but there are a lot of deer and cow-type things with big horns and antlers. I don't think they'd do too well with the sides of your car! There were so many different types of animals in the safari!

Almost all the continents were represented, I couldn't believe it. The carnivorous animals were kept separately though. I guess the giant Liger (lion daddy, tiger mommy) might eat the giraffe.

Callaway Gardens

Last week we took a little family trip to Pine Mountain, Georgia. We stayed at Callaway Gardens. Noah was a great traveler, and we all enjoyed the beauty of God's creation. We saw some cool wildlife and a ton of beautiful plants and flowers. And, we were definitely the youngest people there. It didn't even dawn on me that not many families with children travel during the week during a school year. There were plenty of, um, older people there. Of course, they all loved Noah!

My precious little boy by a field of poppies. He loves his sunglasses. He'll leave them on the whole time we are outside!

Mommy and Noah on a bench in the kiddy garden. Noah so kindly invited me to sit with him on this tiny bench. You can see my tummy is starting to show a little bit.

Daddy and Noah hiding in the foliage.

Noah found a blue tractor at the vegetable garden. He's been talking about it since.

Dying Easter Eggs

Silly Mommy thought dying Easter eggs inside with a 1 1/2 year old would be loads of fun. Well, it was for Noah. I, on the other hand, got a lesson in patience. By the end most eggs were cracked, but we were all having fun!

Beach

At the end of March we went to the beach. Remember that week it rained all week in Jackson, we were at the beach in the rain. Noah still woke up every morning excited to see the beach. He probably didn't know it isn't supposed to rain at the beach. Daddy took Noah to play on the beach in his rain coat, and for about 2 hours on the last day we saw the sun.

Ah, a family picture at the beach.
Notice, I am dressed for winter.Daddy and Noah studied the waves and the sand.
Nana helped Noah play with his beach toys.

Uncle Max gave Noah and Daddy an ab workout.

Nana's Birthday

Nana had her ?0th birthday party in March. Noah thought the brownies were spectacular! Happy Birthday Nana!

Treat time!

Noah loves Sonic as much as Mommy does!

A Sweet Suprise

I love the snow. Being in Mississippi, I obviously don't get to see much of it, but on Sunday morning we woke up to a beautiful dusting of snown outside. I am trying to turn Noah into a snow lover, but he thought it was pretty cold and didn't really want to touch it. I insisted he touch it though. Who knows, maybe it will snow again. It snowed twice last March!

Noah the meat eater

Noah loves meat. At almost every meal he sits in his chair and chants "meat, meat". One night I decided to give it all to him. You can tell he especially loves a nice piece of steak!

On Saturday Mommy and Noah were in a race - a walking race. Along with Grandmommy, we did the 5K walk benefiting Batson Children's Hospital (or as Noah and I call it Daddy's Hospital). We didn't come in 1st or even 100th, but we had a blast!

Noah and Mommy went to Birmingham to visit our friends Corey and Jessica. While we were there, we went to the zoo. Noah especially liked getting to be a giraffe and riding the carousel.
Noah finally got his big boy hair cut. Tracy was so sweet to him. He has still been called a girl though. I must admit, it is a handsome haircut - but I do miss the curls.
